Data Systems

Computers have always been very interesting to me since I was very young. I have always been able to have access to Internet and learn alot of the basic functions of the computer. Despite all of the things that I try to learn on my own I always find myself asking more questions. I hope that in this class I will be able to get alot of questions answered. Security for my computer is the biggest question for me. How do I protect my computer from hackers? I know that there are plenty of software's that are built to stop hackers.
What I don't understand is how they still manage to get in peoples systems. It seems that they are getting smarter right along with the new software. Another thing that I want to learn is preventive maintenance. Sometimes I see people take their computers apart and clean the inside. Does this help your computer run better? Sometimes my computer collects alot of dust in the back. I'm not sure if this might be hurting my computer or not. It is usually the small things that people tend to overlook that can be causing the problem.
Last, but not least, what kinda scans can you do on your computer to clean out the old files? I notice that my computer runs slow alot. When I do a system clean up it doesn't work all the time. When it is done it still runs slow even though I have cleaned out the files. What else can I do to keep my system running properly. These are the three things that I really hope to learn from this class. By learning these things it will allow me to be able to have a better understandings of the computer world.
